Job description

Currently searching for a Vice President of Clinical Development to report into the Chief Medical Officer for an early stage clinical biotech focusing in Immuno-Oncology. The client is developing ground breaking treatments which will significantly improve patient outcomes.

This executive-level position requires a deep understanding of oncology drug development, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial design. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive the development and execution of our clinical development programs.

  • Developing the clinical development strategy for early assets, specifically from IND / FiH and then development into Phase II.
  • Develop and execute the overall clinical development strategy, aligned with the company's vision and goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the clinical development team, ensuring efficient and effective execution of clinical programs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, scientific advancements, and competitive landscape in oncology to inform decision-making processes.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of clinical development plans, including study protocols, regulatory submissions, and investigator brochures.
  • Manage and collaborate with CROs, key opinion leaders, clinical sites, and other external partners to ensure successful execution of clinical trials.
  • Provide clinical input and support to preclinical research and translational medicine teams to guide early-stage pipeline decisions.

Qualifications:

  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Extensive experience in clinical development within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on oncology.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA and international regulatory requirements for oncology clinical trials.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design, biomarkers, and patient stratification strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Interview Process

  • Full and open discussion about the role with Charles (founder at CEO).
  • If both parties agree to move forward - CV will be submitted.
  • 1st Interview with hiring manager.
  • 2nd interview with HR and / or dotted line reports.
  • 3rd Interview: Small panel
  • 4th Interview: Debrief with hiring manager and/or HR.
  • Offer stage.
